Workshops, Competitions and Events
Company members are well established as teachers both in Sweden and internationally. Their knowledge is often unique and few, if any, rivals have a longer list of merits. (På tävlingsidan har gruppen synts till relativt lite enär detta i alltför stor omfattning skulle kunna antas inkräkta på den egentliga och showinriktade kärnverksamheten.) They have been invited to appear as special performers at a number of competitions, including European Championships and World Championships in Rock 'n' Roll, as well as World Championships in Jitterbug/Lindy Hop. In addition, individual members have acted as judges in these world championships, as well as in the U.K. Lindy Hop Championships, American Lindy Hop Championships and Harlem Savoy Style Championships.

As producers and organizers, the group has carried off a number of events among which Herräng Dance Camp is a shining example. Since its inception in 1982, the camp has grown into the world’s largest concentration of swing dancers in its class. The four week camp takes place in July every year in Herräng, Sweden, some 100 kilometers north of Stockholm and has been attended for many years now by dancers from all over the world. Harlem Hot Shots dancers are also involved in arranging the weekly dances at Jesse’s Jazz Club in Stockholm, as well as a number of one-time events including the World Championships in Lindy Hop and Swing City Stockholm, both in 2002.

In addition to the group’s main activity—putting on shows!—Harlem Hot Shots can provide dance lessons and workshops on all levels and for all occasions: Company parties, weekly classes at your location or our studio, lectures with vintage films, and more. The possibilities are endless!
